In the United States, ONE drop of "Black" blood makes a person "Black." (That is why Barack Obama and Halle Berry and other biracial/multiracial individuals are "Black.") Therefore, because my paternal ancestry is African and German, I am considered to be "Black."

Am I Choctaw? Yes! However, because my PHENOTYPE is (to those that are ignorant) "Black", I am considered to be "Black." (Actually, my facial features are a LOT like my maternal grandfather's and my Mom's. I just happen to be a bit darker.)

I have had people who are not ignorant ask me what tribe/nation I am from, but those encounters have been rare.

I hope that what I am saying makes sense.

Again, I sincerely apologize if I have offended.
Please accept my apology for having to make you explain. We have known many Choctaws here in SoCal that come from Oklahoma. The Simons, Sams, Georges, Fraziers and Kings.
