I think the first one should have gotten a Bronze Star with V device, but the 2nd article I believed rated the Silver Star.

You want to know whats so screwed up? In the Army, E-7 & above get an automatic Bronze Star...this came from our command in both OEF & OIF... even if they didn't go out the wire....how f*%&#* is that?! I have seen E-7's working in an a supply section get them, who never even got out the wire!!!....and lower ranking soldiers who come under fire and go out on daily patrols in both Afghanistan & Iraq and not get any medals, or if they are lucky maybe a Army Commendation Medal, or a Certificate of Commendation or Appreciation.

I miss how the Marines do things in the infantry side of the house. With the exception of the Marine who should have gotten the Medal of Honor. I think maybe the committee investigating the actions that fateful day, they had handed out, "their" quota of Medals of Honor. Or maybe he wasn't a white guy is why they didn't award him the M.O.H. I hate that term 'win' the Medal of Honor...its NOT a contest to try and get that medal. Its about giving your life above & beyond the call of duty.
