I don't know why they bother to annouce the winners of these contest pow wows, if they don't announce them at the Pow Wow, on the arena floor, for all to see, on a big stage out front, not back in the corner someplace, with the winners in full regalia, it really doesn't make that much difference. It's not like everyone knows all the dancers by name, or even on sight, hard to tell anyone with all that regalia on. Maybe you can recognize by the colors or designs. It's seem so parochial, "Oh, ya gotta know so and so, everybody knows so and so." It's like paying money to go see some kinda contest, be it a stock car race, or a singing contest, or a baseball game, and they never tell you the scores, or who won the darn thing. When you ask, they say it shouldn't matter to you, it's only necessary that the people who were actually singing, racing, or playing ball, know who won. Like in the Olympics, who cares who won, it's not necessary for the audience, the viewers to know, only the participants need to know who won? Maybe we'll let them know in a few weeks, heck, by that time no one will give a crap about the Olympics and who won, be long forgotten, but the way they actually do it, they annouce the winners right away, in short order, make a big deal out of the winners, put them up on a big high stage for all to see, give them medals, play Anthems for them, everybody knows who they are, big shots. Attend a contest pow wow, you'll be lucky to see who won on some obscure posting board, weeks later, by that time you may have even forgotten that you attended the thing.
