Agree 100% with wyorose. WonderUnder is lighter in weight and more flexible than the Heat n Bond LITE. If doing single appliques then the Heat n Bond LITE will work fine and will be easier to use. If you are layering the appliques, use the WonderUnder instead. Don't use regular Heat n Bond. It is too heavy/stiff.
For the sequin fabric, never iron it directly or all your sequins will come off onto your iron! Try to iron from the back side only and with the paper buffer.

I like the look of a circle skirt which gives a nice flare without bulk at the waist.. If you choose a dress pattern, just make sure that the skirt hem will be wide enough to accomodate your leg movements. Good luck!
