Question Getting a feather fan over the border (Canada to US)

Hi all,

I don't post here much but I have a question.. I am originally from Ontario Canada and now live in the US (California). My fan for my regalia is still in Ontario (my sister has it) because when I was moving things were packed pretty tight and I didn't want it to get damaged.

I would like to know if we are likely to experience any problems with customs if she mails my fan to me. Ideally I would prefer it to be transported personally, however, we're all broke and a visit isn't likely in the near future. But I would rather wait than risk it being confiscated or something.. does anyone know the legalities involved in this, are we likely to have problems? It's just a goose wing fan but I know laws are stricter in the US regarding feathers etc and I'm not sure what is and isn't and google hasn't yielded many answers for me. I know if I was bringing it over personally I could show my card but if it's going through the mail in customs without me....?
