I do sympathize. Get an humidifier. Just keep it disinfected so you don't make a Legionnaires' disease factory.

We have a -- uh -- vintage heating/AC system. We're in that awkward season when you need heat in the morning and AC in the afternoon. It means someone must remember to go in the closet, climb over the broom and mop bucket, and turn the building air from heat to cool before it gets too hot upstairs. It was nearly 80F Friday afternoon and 40F this morning. We were on AC when I came in. It was a touch nippy before I turned the heat on.
