I don't know about historical accuracy, but this movie was VIOLENT!! Holy cow!! I won't give away plot parts to people who haven't seen it, but I will warn you that if you have kids or grandkids who look Indian you'll more than likely have problems with some of the scenes as they're heart-wrenching. One of the little girls in the movie looked just like my daughter and that was hard to watch. There's no direct violence to kids though.

I will say this is one movie that literally should have just "cut to the chase" as that was the best part and really the only part I'd even recommend watching.
