The best conversation you will ever have...

Posted 04-16-2013 at 03:39 PM by muskrat_skull
The other day I had a really great conversation. What made it great was that it was a heart to heart conversation with one of my favorite people, my youngest son.

We were always very close, but with time, families can grow into ruts, and conversations seem to follow the well-worn lines of "how was your day" and "fine". It's really important, no matter how old your children are, to take the time to really sit down and talk to them, even about things that are difficult...

So ... I volunteered my time and my services to a first-time high school american indian club social powwow the other weekend.

late in the evening session, the mc called me out into the arena and he explained the reasons why i was doing this contribution this year. i had committed myself to helping out at least four local high school social powwows to further encourage the students in their endeavours to plan events and carry them out.

Readers of Blogs==yep that's you!

Posted 04-15-2013 at 01:18 AM by docat
Reading others' blogs has been a fun excursion. I always wondered what a blog reader was like...kinda part reading someone's diary...kind of a voyeur. So I stepped into that experience to see what it was like.

So I did it and found that I'm probably not as empathetic as I would be if the person was sitting there. And if people are struggling, I'm about the last person they want to see.

My favorite blogs to read are the funny ones. In this old world where there...
