Alabama-Coushatta Housing Director Needed
The Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas is looking to hire a Housing Director
Minimum/Maximum Pay: Negotiable This is a full-time position with the following benefits: • Insurance • Sick Leave • Vacation • Pension • FICA/Worker’s Comp. • Vision • Dental Requirements: • Thorough Criminal Background check • Must be able to pass drug test • Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License Minimum Qualifications Required: •Bachelor’s Degree preferred; or Associate’s with 5 years housing management experience. • Experience in NAHASDA preferred • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Willing to travel on a regular basis • The applicant must be bondable Preference in filling vacancies is given to qualified Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Preference Act. General Statement of Duties: The Housing Director is responsible for the overall management and administrative functions for all of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Housing Authority (ACIHA) programs and personnel in accordance with the Housing & Urban Development (HUD)/Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA) Regulations and the Policies and Procedures of the ACIHA of the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe of Texas. The incumbent will provide direction and coordination of the overall affairs of the ACIHA in accordance with the policies of the ACIHA Board of Commissioners (BOC) in order to develop and operate a sufficient quantity of decent, safe, and sanitary homes and to provide employment opportunities for low income families living within the ACIHA’s area of operations. Located in the South East, Big Thicket region, on approximately 10,200 acres, the Alabama-Coushatta Tribe has the oldest Indian reservation in Texas.
