Hello everyone. I just joined and am enjoying this site very much! I live in South Dakota, my Husband and I found a wonderful VHS tape in a box at a garage sale. It is Schemitzun '96 Fifth Annual feast of Green Corn and Dance. I knew very little about it myself , so tried looking online to find out more, and found Powwows.com..

Can anyone give me any info about this Pow Wow, and why is it this VHS is no where to be found ? I feel like I stumbled on something very special, and more people should see it.

Schemitzun used to be the powwow to go to - it was huge back in the early-mid 90's. It is on the Pequot reservation in Connecticut. Due to monetary constraints it is not what it used to be but I believe it is still a good powwow. I hadn't been in years.

I believe 2008 was the last time it was massive. The last few years it was been smaller. I did hear that it is slowly getting bigger again.

Ahhh...that was the last year I was there with Eyabay...we took 2nd I believe...
