Yeah. Somebody post the winners!

Got a chance to slide in there yestiddy afternoon. There was some goot singing. Juss know that MNX got 1st in No. orig, Blackstone in No. contempt, and Southern Boyz in southern. Good round of intertribals at the end. Good to see Stoney Creek come out west and do good. Hope to see them out this way more often

Also, Blue Thunder was sounding good.

Talking No Ties

I know Cozad got 2nd in the So. Drum contest, Thunderhill 4th and Sizzortail 5th, Southern Outlawz must have got 2nd then if Southern Boyz got 1st. Here are some of the drums that I can remember:
Native Thunder
The Boyz
Wild Rose
Mandaree
Midnite Express
Parker School
Blackstone
Stoney Creek
Blu thunder
Tha Tribe
Eya Hey Nakoda
Mountain Soul

There were 22 drums altogether, 10 in Northern Contemporary and 7 in Northern Original, 5 in Southern. There were over 600 registered dancers! Grand Entry was huge.

Thumbs up

The committee did a great job accomodating all of the dancers with a good meal on Saturday. Aside from the dust/wind, all was good. I would recommend a bigger tent next year because it was really crowded! EXCELLENT!!!

6th Native Soul
5th Walking Buffalo
4th Eya hey Nakota
3rd Tha Boyz
2nd Stoney Creek
1st Blackstone

6th Place was NATIVE THUNDER from South Dakota not Native Soul. Although if they joined up w/ Mountain Soul I guess they could change their name :)

And yes Eyabay competed but I guess they didn't place. The committee and chairman did ensure that all drums would get something so the drums that didn't place each got $1000.

And it was so nice to meet the great guys from Stoney Creek who came all the way from North Carolina for the pow wow. They were extremely polite and good singers too! Congrats on the 2nd place win. Hope to see you back in the west soon.

I will try to retrieve the winners lists and post them tonite...the laptops are full of pow wow dust still!

I thought they had split adult categories like 18 to 39 and 40+ or something. What happened to that?

Yes, they had split categories, Adults 18-34; Sr. Adults 35-49; Golden Age 50-69; Sr. Golden Age 70+. There were a ton of dancers (larger competition was in northern categories where I feel they could have split the dancers up in groups to allow people to be seen). The singing was awesome from all drums. .
