So many specials though this year that the last 2 days there were barely any intertribals. On sunday night we started gearing up 6:00 expecting grand entry at 7 like they announced.... we sat there til about 9:30 until they finished the give-aways and specials, then finally started grand entry, then gave us 3-4 intertribals and then went into a few hours of specials.............. They might as well have made it a contest powwow this year.

I mean I enjoyed it, but didnt get a chance to dance that much. I had to sign up for the mens traditional contest special just to get a chance to dance, since im not a contest dancer. The chicken dance contest was crazy. The St. Claire kid tore it up. He should have gotten first place... The best chicken dancer ive ever seen in my life, he also tore up the mens tradish contest. Hopefully he'll take first next year.

Thumbs up

If you wanted to see some real grass dancing....Ponemah was the place to be Monday evening. When them final five dancers were picked they were each given two pushups to dance solo in front of the judges. Holy smokes those songs were smoking fast.....the leg work Randy and Rusty put into their dancing and the perfect stops by Ivan and Jyles on their trick songs were off the hook. I thought it was pretty cool when Ivan pointed his finger to the ground when he stopped on time with the trick song....AWESOME. Jyles also with his wicked spins and his twirling fringes...awesome. Randy and Rusty showed us how fast they can dance and how fast they can move their feet. It was just an awesome show. I cant wait for next year. Oh yeah and Richard Street.....he was really jamming with his feet along with his ducks and oh yeah and his tip toeing on the check beats....very nice.

Man the crowd was really screaming and cheering on the dancers. I was shaking with excitement just watching. Cant wait for next year for sure.
