Looking forward to Kimbolton this weekend! My wife is finishing up my aprons and I just finished my mocathikaki... got the materials to finish up my dance stick, should be ready to go for this weekend... plus I'm looking to put those new mics to the test... lol.
Didn't I hear that Brian was bringing Eagle Boy out too though? Ain't seen that one foot in a while, will be good to see him!
Will be there on Friday, and if someone puts a hand drum in my hand, we may be up for some stickgame on Friday night!

Well, the weekend is done, and we're back from Kimbolton.

Have mixed feelings about some of the things that happened after the pow wow was over, but that doesn't mean anything to the gathering itself.

Overall, Bird Choppers was awesome, Rick did an awesome job as MC, especially the way he harrassed my wife all weekend... and everyone else for that matter... LOL. NO ONE WAS SAFE... LOL. Butch and Toni both did a good job, and it was good to hang out with the WC boys and TN boys... all except for that Ricky guy... he worries me... aiyyeee, I jokes. It was good to see a lot of friends, and hang out and just kick back and sing. With the gathering itself I had no problems what so ever, had a great time!

As for the other stuff, I don't think it's for me to bring up in this forum, and has nothing to do with anyone that was at the pow wow directly. To anyone that was there... I hope you had fun, and we'll see you down the road... Next Stop... Eagle Creek!!! (oh yeah... ricky... how'd those test results come back? LOL)

From what I remember of the party on Saturday night, It was a great time. There was no trouble at the party. Like I said, I too do not remember much of the party because I was sooooo tired from running the sound and getting that great energy rush from all of the drums that showed up. The energy of the drums just wiped me out. I got som frybread and taco fixins, did some corm soup and CRASHED!!!!! Toni and the girls did a great job on the food. It was awsome!!!

Sunday morning I got up around 7:00 and dragged myself out of bed and hit the coffee hard. By 8:00 I was out of the cabin and headed down to the circle to open up the sound system. First CD spun up at 9:00 AM to set the mood for Sunday. For me first CD up on a Sunday is almost always Black Lodge. This was the case. Feeling good I decided to make sure everyone knew it was powwow Sunday so I cranked up the power amps to MAX!!!!! I wanted to let the entire county know. Then all of a sudden during the first set of honor beats from the Black Lodge CD, KABOOM!!!!!!! We blew a speaker. It was kewl!!!! Smoke and a big flash came out of the speaker. The sound was like a cannon going off. I blew speakers out before but never like that. I'm sure glad no one was in the circle. LOL!!! It would have frightened the tar out of some dancers. I was thinking about replacing that set of speakers at the end of the season anyway. Today I called my factory rep at the speaker company and ordered a whole new set of speakers. They will be here in time for our next powwow in Indianapolis. That's Father's Day weekend. I invite any drum to try to blow up these new speakers with honor beats. They will handle 2000 watts each. Call it a challenge Red!!!!!!

See you there!

I also got a chance to dance a little. It was sure great to be out in the circle. Littleredblanket, You should have won the switch dance. You have a great style. My "men's fancy shawl" LOL, was nothing compaired to you. If I remember I think you were in the top 3 while I got drummed out in the first round.

Oh and Ricky, just one more drum beat and it could have been over for you in the sneakup. Keep your guard up for next time. I'm on the hunt!!! LOL

Toni and Butch did a great job as head dancers. Bird Chopper and all the drums were fantastic. The rain sucked on Sunday afternoon but "Plan B" in the pavilion worked out great. At least we had cover and kept dancing.

All in all, I was a good powwow.

Ken

You were totally waisted from the day of drum and dance. You put out so much energy on Saturday it didn't suprise me when you finally got some food at mine and Toni's cabin and asked if there were any pickles. You were soooo tired that you had a hard time just getting something to eat. It was that cute face you put on when you found out that the pickles were gone. I think most people at the party remember how tired and funny you became. You were soooooo tired that you kinda got slap happy and goofy. You took the pickle thing to the limit and got everyone laughing so hard that people were going nutz over it. You were too KEWL!!!!

Girl!!!!! You know how to POWWOW

It's more fun to blow a speaker in the dark. Man the fireworks are fantastic!

Well let's see if you can toast these speakers. No matter, they will be under warranty. Give em a good workout in Indi. They need to be broke in. LOL I'm thinking about going 10,000 watts there. Gonna give the Indi Speedway a run for its money and watch the city go into a blackout.
