The winners for teen girls southern traditional were: Raetava Yazzie,1st, Amanda Campos, 2nd, Janet Bull Coming and Celeste McGurk (not sure which of these 2 got 3rd & 4th). There was a mix up when they announced the winners.

Thumbs down

Could I get a Recap of the Women's southern Cloth winners?!? I just got a couple of names but didn't know who exactly placed and what they exactly placed.
Oh yeah, and who got 4th in Men's So. Straight?

I thought that Merle & Rose should have placed in their regular contest. That was jacked up. That's 2 years in a row that Merle didn't place, and that's just sad, cause I like the way he dances.
But I guess it was kool on the other hand cause they did place in the specials.
But anyhoo...I had fun over the weekend & will be going back next year!! *evil grin*

I heard Crow Bellecourt was head drum judge over there this weekend and Midnite Express won it. Now that is just plain messed up. That's two years in a row that something funny went down over there in the drum contest. This powwow is going to get a bad name from singers if it doesn't already.

Yeah, I would say some of the winners in some of the contest categories were questionable. Some of the good dancers didn't get it in. AND, the 40 Years and over Special Southern Cloth contest was a big joke. It was rigged and even the judge was pissed at what happened. Guess the people didn't like the judges that were picked so they got new judges (who didn't know a thing about southern style dancing). I didn't actually see it cause I got back to the arena when the contest had already started, but heard the second place winner was late getting in the contest, wasn't dancing southern style, was dancing out of beat, wasn't dressed appropriately for that category. You were suppose to wear your own tribal regalia. Granted, she did wear her own but it wasn't Southern style. Those poor ladies were just dancing for nothing but they did look good in their OWN tribal regalia. Those people who sponsored that Special should have just given the $$$ to the people they wanted to win instead of making the ladies dance. What a waste of time and effort. Heard there was some sort of relationship there to. Shame on those judges!!!

Angry Singing Contest????????

First of all, who the he-- is Crow B to be running a singing contest?? He can't sing and he's dead-weight on the Midnite drum group. Complains all the time. This PowWow gave him an opportunity to pay back Battle River for beating Midnite at Cass Lake. Also Randy Paskimen was the head singing judge there, so he got a chance to pay him back too. He's just outright sicking and I don't see how people can even consider him to do anything relating to singing or dancing. I heard he took only two singers to NNF. When will committees wise up to this fool. And he is always the first one to accuse someone else of any wrong doings.
