Hey, would the committee consider splitting the age groups in the southern also? Just wondering, my family and I went up there, my husband got 2nd, i got 4th, my daughter got 3rd, my little girls all placed...so as a family we did really well. But to be truthful, I hate dancing against my daughter, because she is younger and smoother. LOL She dances like me twenty years ago, so that is pretty hard to take being 41 now. just kidding. I have lost 50 pounds since then, so maybe I will stand a chance this summer, plan on losing 20 more.
But consider, because Rocky Boy is advertising 3000 with last place being 600 this summer. My brother RG is the arena director and they have southern categories, but not age split...might consider it. We had a nice time at your casino and hotel, it was fun. My husband had new brakes put on in your town, and they were really nice to us since we were from so far away, that is just a nice environment.

We are currently working with our budget to make some changes in the drum contest and the dance contest. Nothing is official and nothing has been voted on. For those of you that have already called me for the scoop......there is no scoop yet.....LOL
We are happy to hear any suggestions. I actually may start a thread to help us out :0) Most of our head staff is already secured so we are working hard to get the word out earlier than last year.
But like I said, budget talks is still in the works :0) I will keep you posted!

I have a suggestion......if you are still going to have split age categories for the adults, please consider making the age for Golden Age 55 years and older instead of 50 and older. That is more in line with what the other powwows do that have the split age categories (Hinckley, St. Croix, Prairie Island), and I think it would be more fair to the Golden Age dancers that are in their late fifties, sixties and seventies. Just my suggestion.....lol. We are planning on coming up this year....missed it last year because of our new baby.

I can post this again if you end up doing a suggestion thread for this powwow. You guys do a great job!
