Drums across the World

As Natives, we pay great respect to the drum. In my tribe, I was taught to respect the drum, "take care of it and it will take care of you." Following this advice, the drum has taken me to many different lands in North America and throughout the world.

While travelling I noticed the drum is a prominent instrument in many other cultures as well. Some examples of some drums I have encountered are an Irish hand drum with a drum stick that has two heads. It was about the size of and sounded like a hand-game drum.

Another was a Korean ceremonial drum. It was two sided, looked and sounded just like a 49 drum.

Heres a link to a video with a Mongolian drum. the drum looks just like a round dance drum. YouTube - AllRoadsFilmProject's Channel

What other kinds of drums are out there?

Dear WhoMe, you are the best thread starter and the best replyist on here! Honestly, you really are! Any ideal on how to construct a two-headed drum stick. Seriously, I think it would come in handy.

These are really neat, the Japanese teams are the real deal, the teams of white kids are not right.
In the words of my Grandmother.." You can do it the wrong way,or you can do it the Japanese way!"
