Adoption, lost kids from generations past

Hey there--
Was just wondering if anyone knew of any resources or just even basic information regarding timeframes during which Indian children were removed, either forceably for "Indian schools" and maybe just taken like in human trafficking or by "do-gooders" and social workers. I would be interested in reading about this subject discussed through time. I have read some of the split feather stuff that talks about quaker and german adoptions in general terms, I'm wondering if these things happened from 1850s to 1905 or so. I am so disgusted that abuse against American Indians has continued so long that people can actually discuss trends in the excuses for the abuse. It makes me physically ill. I am so sad for my grandmother and all who have suffered from this. Some of my family still spirals out of control, lost. I would love to hear from anyone with experience tracing some lost family members that might have some tips on where to look. Thanks for listening and I pray for all those lost, whoever they are, to have peace and find their way.
