Annual Denver March Diet

Better late than never! :)

I actually started Sunday, but am motivated to lose weight before Denver March...mostly so I can go pig out down there at Cinzetti's and Casa Bonita, and enjoy all the free breakfast at the hotels. JOKES! I'm tired of being fat!

There are so many diets out there, but am sticking with the basics of:

LOTS of water
No sugar of any form, and trying to cut out artificial sweeteners
Eat more whole foods
Lots of slow exercise
Some heavy exercise
Reduce stress
Supplements like Vit D, Vit C, Calcium (Liquid), Probiotic and Tumeric

Anybody else want to chime in with weight loss tips, success stories, recipes, etc???

I know how to lose weight, and have done it about 12 years ago now, but just can't get it done. However, I recently heard that if you know it, but you don't do it, that you really don't know it.

So now I'm trying to apply myself!

Burpees! The new jumping jacks! I will try to do a couple every day.

I admit it...I got the frybread belly...back in the day I never thought it would happen to me.

The recipe forum used to have my recipe for "I can't believe it's not frybread" but I can't find it. Might have to do another recipe post!

What I did healthy today:

Mixed diatomaceous earth with my SINGLE cup of coffee..sweetened with Stevia.
https://www.diatomaceousearth.com/di...alth-benefits/

Had hard boiled eggs for breakfast..with just a smidge of Miracle Whip.
Need to make a healthy homemade version...like this but without the poisonous canola oil:
Top Secret Recipes | Kraft Miracle Whip Copycat Recipe

Forgot my healthy lunch pizza at home and made the effort to leave work and go pick it up.
Yummy low carb pizza: DEEP DISH PIZZA - Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes

Planning a healthy dinner and snack...ultimately would like to set up the crock pot every morning so dinner is ready with little evening effort.

Drank a couple cups of water this AM, going to fill my half gallon pitcher and try to polish it off by the tie I get off work.

Ordered hawthorn berry capsules and liquid coq10 to try to lower my blood pressure without drugs.

Mashed cauliflower is awesome. Just have to watch the butter and salt.

Not that I will be at Denver March but in prep for powwow season I'm dropping the amount of sugar intake. I switched to drinking mostly unsweetened black tea. As for exercise, lots of leg work and lots of yoga style stretching every day.

Several months ago, I started seeing all over online about drinking lemon juice first thing in the morning. It's good for weight loss, and boosting your vitamin C and a couple of other things I don't remember. I started doing it, and I'm slowly but surely dropping the weight. I do half a lemon in abut 6 ozs.of water first thing-before coffee or any food. Three pounds a month so far. I'll take it-it's better than gaining. My thyroid went all crazy on me a couple of years ago, and it took me nearly a year to convince the medical people I was having issues with it. They were doing a general check on it, and it kept coming back fine, but finally they checked deeper (T3 and T4) and surprise-I have hypothyroidism. Everybody was surprised except me. LOL!

I tried cutting sugar out-and as many processed foods as possible. I use raw organic sugar now, and will admit I have a Little Debbie of some kind on a daily basis. I do miss Cheetos, though. LOL! I've also started watching my carbs-as little bread as possible, and easy on the pasta.

Adding fresh or frozen fruit to your water will help, if you're a huge juice/soda fan like I am. When the fruit sits in the water and releases their juices, they also release their aromatic compounds. Take a little sniff of that fruity goodness before drinking. It'll help stimulate the feeling of satiety.

Teas are good. Mmmm... mint tea.

And I've switched to HImalayan salt and sea salt...when I do use salt. Quit cooking with salt awhile back.

And trying to drink a gallon of water a day!
