New Updated Guaranteed Flat Bellie Diet

This is my own interpretation of a popular diet...ending with a y...but I will go out on a limb and GUARANTEE results for someone sticking to it.

The basics are eating right, drinking lots of water, and exercise...DUH!!

EATING RIGHT consists of avoiding processed foods, sugars, starches, and unhealthy fats.

MUFAs (monounsaturated fatty acids) are the GOOD FOR YOU fats. I know it's hard to get past the hype of "low-fat", but eating low fat has put more pounds on Americans than fast food.

What are some great MUFAs?
Nuts and seeds (Almonds, Brazil nuts, dry-roasted sunflower seeds, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, pine nuts, pistachios, roasted pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, walnuts) (Peanuts and cashews are legumes and should be avoided when losing weight)

Oils (flaxseed oil, olive oil, peanut oil, safflower oil, sesame oil, sunflower oil, walnut oil)

Olives - any kind

Dark chocolate - 70% or higher is the best

Another GOOD FOR YOU fat - Coconut Oil, as long as it's not hydrogenized into a transfat. Virgin coconut oil is best, of course...not only good to eat, cook with, but to lather on your skin.

Another oil that shouldn't be avoided - real butter or ghee (clarified butter)

AND OMEGA-3s, of course!! It's all confusing with ALAs, EPAs, DHAs, but they're ALL GOOD for you. ALAs coming from plant sources like flaxseed (also a MUFA!), chia seed, and even HEMP.
EPAs and DHAs coming from cold water oily fish - salmon, herring, mackerel, anchovies, and sardines being the best sources.

For supplements, I highly recommend MegaRed krill oil - TINY pills with a big wallop of Omega-3. Much better than forcing down 3-4 fish oil pills a day.

Speaking of supplements:

Besides Omega 3, calcium, Vitamin D, and Probiotics are practically ESSENTIAL.

Vitamin C, B's, E, and Magnesium (for calcium absortion) are good for you too.

Chondroitin Glucosamine and Curcumin/Tumeric are a couple others I take to avoid knee/joint problems and arthritis respectfully.

Avoid hard supplement pills that won't dissolve in a little vinegar and water in an hour...like IHS calcium!!

Talking mmmm butter...

Yes real butter is wonderful; the more natural the better.
Also, what is key with this butter and a lot of other food is MODERATION. Even healthy food can be unhealthy if eaten in excess.

If you are not sure about the chemical compounds and all of this science stuff a good way to rule out foods is asking this general question, "would your great grandmother eat that?"

Another source of monounsaturated fats is avocado. It also has beta sitosterol, which has proven to lower cholesterol levels, vitamin E, and glutathione which is good for preventing heart problems, aging, and certain cancers.
