Daughter's First Pow Wow... Help Needed...

Hello All... I am new to your forums and am new to the Ojibwe custom. My husband is a member of the Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Our daughter (born 12/9/11) will be attending her first Pow Wow (as well as mine) and I was wanting to make her her first Jingle Dress.

I am aware that I would be safe to do a simple dress and add the jingles (I am going to purchase the jingles since I don't know anything about rolling them - may roll at some point later). I am looking for pointers on how the dress should look for a toddler and ideas on how to make leggings and anything else she would need to wear for the ceremony. We do have a pair of moccasins for her to wear.

I am also looking for pointers or direction on beading...

Please, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Look in our photo galleries at the children category. We have lots of photos of toddlers in Jingle outfits.

Welcome, Willowsmom!!

There is a beading section here and many experienced beaders hang out. Come read and participate and ask any specific questions there!

Again, Welcome!
