beading the medical symbol onto my regalia?

Hey,
I'm starting to design my first jingle dress. I've thought about ways of tying my designs into my own tribe and myself, and being a med student and the nature of the jingle dress dance being one of healing, I was wondering if its respectable to incorporate a variation of the western medicine symbol (Medical Symbol Vector | Vector Free | Free Vector Art Designs) beaded onto my purse. I was thinking something similar to the AAIP or IHS logo, but my own variation. Anybody think this would be frowned upon?

also a follow-up question- I've been seeing some beaded crowns worn by non-royalty lately. Anyone know if it's acceptable to make an elaborate headband when I'm not royalty? I'd love to show off my beadwork and eagle plume with something like this (http://www.fborfw.com/features/mtigw...w/echo.jpg)but I don't want to mislead anyone regarding my status.

I don't see any problem with it.

Over the years I've beaded military insignia and the Star of Life on various folks' powwow regalia. In the old days, people danced with marks of their battle exploits and various accomplishments. So, I'm not sure how this is all that different. Your people may think differently, but for mine it would be in keeping with tradition.
