Possibility for beading base

Hello all, I saw these canvas shoes at Hobby Lobby yesterday and thought they might make good bases for beading, so here's the link if anyone wants to take a peek. No idea about their quality as far as foot support though!

At the risk of raining on your parade... Since you're just starting out, I'd get my feet wet with open, flat substrates -- preferably braintan buckskin. Canvas is a very unforgiving substrate.

If you want to make shoes, then do a pair of moccs -- a two piece soft sole or side seam. They are flat while you bead and don't give your stitching the stress test a pair of hard soles will during the turning.

Thanks for the links and all the helpful tips/advice. I know I have a ways to go definitely before I try shoes; but wanted to share now in case someone more experienced could use them. :)
