Question Two Needle Applique with One Needle

Does anyone else out there do this? This is how I like to bead applique, basically the same as two needle applique, except you do the whole line first and then go back with the same needle to tack down the beads. I am self taught and this is something I came up with a long while back. Just wondering if others use this and what their thoughts are...

I do this when there's just a short line or small area to bead.

If you have a longer line, how can you be sure you have the exact number of beads you need. I tend to be a perfectioninst, especially on lining up designs and different colors and have been known to take half the beads off my stringing thread to change out a fat bead to a skinny bead or vice versa.

I just try my best to guestimate how many beads I will need and usually I am good, I hear you on the whole fat/skinny not quite right bead thing, then I found delicas!
