Killer 49 Contest

For those of you who appreciate "primo" southern 49 singing . . .

Last night they had a 49 singing contest.

This 49 singing contest was held in Tulsa, Oklahoma as part of the Culture Shock Camp hosted by Brian Frejo. Most of the crowd came from the Tulsa Powwow that is taking place at the Convention Center.

There were three groups that competed. All three groups were loaded with excellent singers. Seven of the singing contestants are powwows.com members. There were also really good chorus girls who sang behind the singers.

The singing groups consisted of the following:

Group #1:
Larry Cozad, Lead Singer
Millard Clark
Francis Stumbling Bear
Rock Pipestem
Clint Kaiyou

Group #2:
Craig Satepauhoodle, Lead Singer
Ron T. Anquoe
Jon Arkeketa
Dennis Zotigh
Joel Deerinwater

Group #3:
Cheevers Toppah, Lead Singer
Hyde Toppah
(?) Red Bird
Ronski
Chad Tahchiwikah(sp?)

The group called the "Hub Caps" Won!

49 Contest

That is so cool! I wish I could've been there. I hope they do this again next year.
