Charlie Brown song "Tdienpeigah"
The Tdienpeigah song so-called "Charlie Brown" from what I've heard is in fact, the "Komalty Family Song". There are one or two stories about how this particular song was composed. It's not a quitting song as it is always used in that way at powwows. This name was made up by someone not familiar with Kiowa gourd dance traditions.
To reply to the supper song. Yes, there is, however a Tdienpei supper song, one of the Paw-Daw-gah, the fast skirmishing songs that you hear, sing or dance to at the end of a gourd dance. No, it's not a quitting song. Kiowas don't have quitting songs in most of their society dances, unless you're familiar with the Kiowa O-Ho-Mah Lodge society, they have a quitting song. Each tribe that have their ceremonial dances often follow protocol. At powwows, it's a little different because we all meet socially to share these songs and dances. That's good. Sorry for taken so long in responding to this inquiry, Bay-Gaw, my computer bill got waaaaaaaaaaaaayyy behind, and I had to re-hook it up, finally got to pay my bill, so they turn it back on, buh... Only an Indian can undrestand this kind of situation. |
