Singing Conditions...

My wife and I, later some friends and I, were looking at some video of this group singing at a pow wow. We noticed the group had their moments where they sounded alright...and other moments where they sounded a tad flat. Very little emotion in their singing. We all began speculating that maybe they were hot....not use the North Carolina humidity. The issue came up about being distracted possibly...you know...those dancers who don't know the difference between a round dance and an intertribal...

For all of you who sing outdoors, how often (if ever) is the weather a factor in your performance?

Your right. I have seen the same thing but at the Pow-Wows. There are some groups that keep getting hired because they're popular and not how they sound. Off beat a lot, singing off tune, don't stop at the proper round, or forget the song while singing. Seen it a lot lately. But they keep getting hired. I'm a drummer too and I think heat does play a part in how you sound. If your hot and singing hard its harder to take breaths to keep singing. I'm in Ca. And in some spots yes its hot. And of course if your a guy and checking out dancers then yes it will affect your concentration lol.and yes some people can't seem to do the round dance lol. Have fun and smile.
