Question Beaded buckskin of cloth applique moccasins...

I just recently saw a fancy shawl dancer with a pair of cloth and applique moccasin insted of beaded buckskin. what do you think of this? Is this a new trend or has it been around for a while? i think they were made from a shiny material because they looked beaded from a distance...just looking for some insight on this

I believe they have been around awhile. I have a couple of younger cousins who dance fancy/ and sew their own stuff. It's just much easier and simpler to have mocs that match, that way it allows them to have 2-3 complete outfits at a time.

I've made a pair or two... don't like making them of cloth though.

I've also made a couple pairs. I don't like making them either. One reason is because the fit has to be perfect or they won't look right. Cloth does not have the stretch that buckskin does. Yeah, they have been around awhile.
