I don’t know if they have permission or not, I kind of doubt it, but I got an email from fabric.com this morning with a selection of twelve “Navajo Southwest ” fabrics. They all are different and they have names like “Shiprock” and “Chinle” but in my opinion they are all ugly and I wouldn’t waste my money, but my concern is more for the permission factor. I’m tired of seeing things like this. Navajo is not interchangeable with southwest. Use southwest, fine. Use the name of a town (with permission) but don’t just arbitrarily throw out Navajo because it sounds so Indian. Sheesh. It makes me SO mad.

The Navajo Nation holds several trademarks/copyrights, etc.. They are known to be up on who is using them without permission. You could always contact them and send them the link and give them a heads up.
