Hey I've dried my eagle feet and polished them but I'm making them into necklaces and I want to keep them from getting ruined and wanted to know what items you use to get them protected like polish or clear spray ?! I'm so lost . I was going to use a clear acrylic spray but I don't want to ruin the talons if anyone else has a way they've used and trust :)

I've never used anything on any of my eagle talons that I have used making regalia items. With that said , I don't allow any of my regalia to ever get wet ! I have numerous dance sticks with feet on the ends and a couple that were dried curled as a breastplate ornament , and a necklace that is all claws ( I didn't make it , it was a gift )but it doesn't appear to have anything on it. Now , if the foot or talons are really good and dry I don't know that applying a clear coat of water repellent , urethane , varnish , or anything like that would hurt them. I have painted a couple with latex paint with excellent results. Hope this helps and good luck with your projects !

Now as an addendum , the talons I dried myself and generally leave a small amount of feathering around the knuckle end. A spray urethane might screw them up , but the skin and claws should be fine.
Yes, I said the 'F' word
