Quill Wrapped Medicine Wheel Question

Greetings everyone,

A question or two about quill wrapping medicine wheels. The area where the cross intersects the circle. Do you lay the quills over the center "braces" and over the wheel part and then quill over top of these 2 or 3 quills? Do you glue the quills layed down on the "brace"? If so, what do you use for glue? Has anyone used the medicine wheel bases from crazy crow or does everyone use rawhide? OK, maybe a bit more than 1 or 2 questions. At any rate, thanks all and have a great day.

My friend uses the "tuff" hide wheels from Crazy Crow; swears by them 'cause he hates cutting his own. Super glue is the key -- just find a brand that doesn't use inferior quality "almost-super glue".

I lay the quills over the brace and the spoke part, then quill over them.

At Buffalo Chips they had plastic bases. I hated to buy PLASTIC but they were much more even than the rawhide ones.

Personally I wouldn't use super glue tho cuz eventually in time it will break the quill n your quills n your quills will come apart..or unravel..

Is crazy crow still open......I've tried ordering the wheel supplies from them last week.......I got a confirmation email from them......yet the money was never taken off my visa card.

I did the 3 day shipping.....yet still nothing has came.

Oh and the part about super glue.....just remember super glue hardens anything it touches making it more brittle.....and once something breaks off it leaves a hard bump which makes it kinda hard to get back over.

Lakota winyan already touched on that subject though.

I use margarine container lids and cut out the medicine wheel with an xacto.
