Question Brocade Satin??

Would you use that floral print satin, I think they call it "brocade" for a mens grass outfit. I'll be dancing in the 18-29 or wutever catagory. I was jus wonderin if that stuff was popular or not. I've seen it used for tradishional shirts for men and traditional cloth for women but havent seen a lot of grass outfits wit it. Lemme know y'all aight? THANKS!!

HECK YEAH! That stuff is great. A lot of the new fancy and grass dancers are using it. Just put some fancy applique designs on it and you are good to go.

I have a drawer full of all different colors waiting to use them on something.

No reason why you couldn't.

A cheap source for that stuff is sari fabric from India. A sari is basically a 5.5 to 6 yard length of cloth. Even if you cut off the borders and the one decorated end, you will still have plenty of fabric to work with. You can get a sari on eBay for about $16 with shipping from certain sellers. Look for "reversible sari" when you do a search and you will see a ton of color choices. This is the only saree fabric I would use for regalia construction as all the other kinds of sari material will be too sheer and flimsy.

Please post pictures when you are done with your outfit. We love to see the creative things people come up with!
