‘Grass Dance Challenge’
Nux-baga Powwow
June 24, 25, 26, 2005

Contest will be held Friday & Saturday, during the Nux-baga Powwow south of Parshall, North Dakota.

Two rounds: 1st place - $2,000.00, Pendleton Jacket & Trophy
2nd place - $1,000.00, Trophy*
3rd place - $800.00, Trophy*
4th place - $500.00, Trophy*
6 consolations winners - $100.00
(* will also receive Pendleton Blanket)

Singing for the contest will be Mandaree, Mandaree, ND and Battle River, Red
Lake, MN.

Geez, Rusty, Wesley, Lakota, Richard, Julius, Ron, Pibbs, dang the list goes on as far as possible winners/placers.

Fort Berthold has so many travelers from South Dakota, Canada, Montana, Minnesota and the in-state crowd.

This powwow sure is growing too, along w/ the Four Bears powwow coming up. New Town is a good place to compete this time of year. Have fun and safe journey's to all.

Nuttin beats C-ing a contest w/all them Ft. Berthold boys, specially all them Old School boyz. U know them old style grass dnzrs from the day will compete just out of respect. Count me in 2 keep it going! Even if there's not a lot of Old School there, it'll still B a goot one. Still I hope there's a lot of Old School, esp. them Baker Boyz from Fort Berthold!!! Anyone out there remember them Old School Boyz dancin old style grass 2 Mandaree and Eagle Whistles????? Old Grass was da' bomb!!! Back then it was GRACEFULL n SMOOTH like they wuz floatin' cross the ground. Not like u c em' dancin today, all crazy n stuff lookin like they're Chikn' danzn using Fancy Feather moves! Can't miss this contest, gotta keep the post going!!!!!!!!!!

WOW!!!!! This is great, the best prize money I've seen. Clyde was a great dancer. Great memorial to him. I'll be there to see the winners, best dancers on fort berthold. Anyone llistening to or thinking there should be more Hand Drum Singers at Pow Wows?
