I've never seen a fancy shawl dancer in Oklahoma dance to a men's fancy song. We usually dance to a northern song. I realise you're talking about what they are doing in Canada, so if you think you may have to dance to a fancy song, then my advice is practice! I grew up dancing men's fancy, because there were not many fancy shawl dancers around (I can remember maybe seeing 2 or 3), and I can tell you to fancy shawl to it you will have to change your style a little. Try to get some songs and practice practice practice!! Stay on those toes, high knees, and don't step too far out! Good luck!!

i love dancing a fast southern oklahoma (forgive spelling), practice a lot and u will get it. mostly speed up ur foot work and on the honor beats/down beats...u have to know where they are gonna be...u know how the mens fancy will do cool stuff, well we dont jump around or do kart wheels, but kick out or find a combo that works for you for about three honor beats...ne way good luck and have fun..
