Unhappy Feather Placment Question

Ok, ladies....I have been doin the circut now for about a year...instead of doing just local pow wows...so, what I have noticed is that some dancers, primarily female, wear their medicine wheels with feathers on them to the left or to the right...no one ever has them on the same side...why is this? is there something I am missing out there?

What do the Tsalagi do? How do they wear their feathers? You should ask your elders/family this question as there are so many tribes on here and you'll get many different answers. :)

Ok, this is where my story gets funny. The only reason I know what tribe and clan I am from is because of my grandmother, it was passed down from her mother, etc etc. She grew up in a time when you didn't talk about it...so needless to say that is all they knew, they never were allowed to live it.
As for me when I was a year old my parents moved all us kids out to the Uintah & Ouray Rez in Utah. So everything I learned from beading, food, dancing, traditions, all came from my grandmother on the rez. We never really did pow wows just our celebrations, and bear dance in the moutains. I don't know if it was because we were so young or maybe just having 6 kids around your legs was hard, but grandma always just put us in a ribbon dress and let us dance until our hearts were content.
So...that is why I know nothing cherokee, only that I am and what my clan is...everything I do is a mix of shoshone and Ute because thats what grandma was. So that is why I ask. I would ask her but my brothers tell me they don't know where she is, it has been over 8 years since I last visited home...
Sorry for the long explaination, but now you see why I asked.
