In the straight dance threads there is a discussion about otter caps and who should or shouldn't be wearing them. Kiowa and Comanche women were mentioned in the thread and I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about what they signify and which women could wear them. Are they only for chiefs decendants or are they to honor male veterans or something else altogether?

but I just had to go read the thread. I have never seen an otter cap. Sounds like I live in the wrong area though. Guessing you better talk to your elders. It would be interesting to hear when you find out. I love hearing whats done in other Nations.
