Bears Ears National Monument
Greetings all,

I'm new here and was hoping that this forum's wonderful members might be willing and able to contribute towards important survey research concerning resource management at Bears Ears National Monument, Utah.

Let me elaborate a little...

I am a postgraduate student, with the UK-based Open University, working towards a masterís degree in Environmental Management. In this final year of study, I'm undertaking an independent research project focused on Native American environmental decision-making capacities within the context of Bears Ears National Monument.

In light of this, I am reaching out to the wider tribal community in the hope of collecting individual responses to a short questionnaire in which you will be able to share your valued opinions and perspectives on both the Bears Ears situation in general, and numerous concepts and approaches to collaborative environmental management which might benefit efforts to protect the monumentís natural and cultural resources from the threats of mining development.

My aspiration is that the information gathered from this questionnaire will not only assist in identifying Native American perspectives on resource management at Bears Ears National Monument, but will also help select a suitable sample group of respondents to take part in a number of short semi-structured interviews, scheduled to be held between mid-May and mid-June in Southeastern Utah.

Any and all information you provide will help immensely with this ongoing research project.

If you think you might be interested in helping to make a difference, the questionnaire should take roughly 15 minutes to complete and can be accessed by following this link:

Thank you so much for taking the time to consider this very important issue.
