Can anyone translate this? I understand "tanka" .... this is a serious question! Thank you. |

Grammatically is does not fit Lakota/Dakota as well as lingusitically. Are you a female, since you pointed out that is was a "male" spiritual guide. If this is a real person, and they claim to be Lakota/Dakota and they are not living in the Dakotas, MN, NE, the Canadian prairies or a neighboring state, you should be very weary of such as person. Esp if they talk spirituality and money. If there is any mention of money, or any inappropriate contact, then get away from this person as quick as possible for your own safety. If you have any other questions that you do not want to ask in a public forum, you can use the messaging system here at powwows.com to message me directly. -Iowa Boy And a serious question in repsonse, what exactly do you mean by a spiritual guide? If this is a person, ask them directly who they are, where they are from, and by what right do they have to be a spiritual guide? |

Thanks Iowa Boy
Yes I am female, lol. This is not an actual person, but someone that comes to me both in my dreams and sometimes if I close my eyes and medicate. I envision this man wearing furs and he points out things in nature -- mountains, rivers, etc. Other than this, I am honestly not strange, lol!
I am very connected to Montana, and wonder if this could be a word the Flathead tribes use? I appreciate you taking the time to answer -- |
