National Geographic: Indian Country

The September 2004 edition of National Geographic Magazine is out. This is a "MUST" for any collector or person wanting current information about American Indians. This Issue has a special section titled, American Indians. A 36' x 24' fold out map is included in this section.

The map includes: Major Powwows and Indian Festivals; American Indian Reservations (Federal and State); Trust Lands; State and Federally Recognized Tribes; Tribal Centers and Museums; Tribal Colleges and Universities; Indian Health Service Hospitals; Urban Indian population statistics; Cultures and Languages; and notable American Indian people.

The article talks about contemporary Indian life, Issues and populations.

This issue of National Geographic Magazine can be purchased at most franchised bookstores nationwide (ie. Barnes and Nobel, Borders etc).

"This is an Excellent Resource for contemporary statistics and facts about Indian Country."

Thanks Whome, I think I'm going out to Walmart and get mine if they have them. We do have a book store here in my small town.

I kinda felt jilted and got this sinking sensation in my gut after I got it in the mail....then read thru it, pulled out the wallsized map and saw that there we're something on the order of 700,000 or so Cherokees.

...then I remembered that about 100,000 Navajos didn't get counted in the last Census....so, that pushed us up to somewhere in the nether regions of around .....say.....400,000???

LMAO!!!!!!!!!!

Boy, I swear....we can't keep it in our pants or we just flat out wanna create enough of a population to start our own Country. aye!!
