The tribe lives on one of the first-ever reservations established in the United States. Chief William P. Miles, who is also an administrator for the Department of Housing and Urban Development, says the tribe was "flattered and honored" to be part of the museum. Other non-recognized tribes from the area are excited as well. Virginia's tribes will hold a welcoming reception on Monday, September 20, the day before the opening.
