Running Strong for American Indian Youth® was granted 50 spots in Washington D.C.'s Marine Corps Marathon as a charity sponsor! WE NEED RUNNERS, no matter the level of experience, to HELP US RAISE MUCH NEEDED FUNDS for the grass roots programs we support in Indian country.
As a runner on Team Running Strong, you'll get fundraising tools, training information, encouraging advice and personal life stories from Billy Mills*, the movie Running Brave, a guaranteed spot in the Marathon (bypassing the lottery) and other perks.

TEAM RUNNING STRONG MAKING EACH STEP COUNT
After a lifetime of achievement, Running Strong National Spokesperson and Ret. Marine Captain, Billy Mills (Oglala (Embedded Lakota) will be honored at the 29th Annual image moved to Marine Corps Marathon, to be held on October 31, 2004 in Washington, DC. Billy has been asked to fire the starting shot and tell his inspirational story at the Marine Corps' legendary "Pasta Party." And you are invited to participate!

Running Strong for American Indian m Youth® is one of a handful of a non-profit organizations across the g country able to offer interested runners a guaranteed spot in the marathon, allowing you to by-pass the lottery. You can begin training months in advance! In exchange for assured participation in "The People's Marathon," you raise support for Running Strong's programs, helping American Indian children have their immediate needs met while creating opportunities for self-sufficiency and self esteem. And you do it with one of the most respected runners and humanitarians of our time, Billy Mills, cheering you on.

This October marks the 40th Anniversary of Billy's gold medal win. Team Running Strong is the
perfect way to honor Billy's victory, achievements and commitment to Native youth. Interested in joining Team Running Strong?
