It looks like this outift is on their own property and they own the animals they shoot - which means that they technically "domestic" stock.
It's also how they can claims tobe able to put you onto the animals of your choice for your hunt without fear of having to refund your money if they don't. Looks like they breed their own stock too... easy to manipulate a colour when you control bloodline. I doubt any amount of letter writing is going to influence a private business. Now that said, if they are hunting of property and on federal lands, treaty lands or other private lands, then you might get somewhere...

There is also a distinct possibility these are hybrid animals. The white color occurs with certain cattle buffalo crosses.

I just don't believe in sport hunting. Eat the meat, use the hide and everything possible, but don't just kill it to hang it on your wall. That's awful.

I'm with Subeeds. We were taught growing up that there's nothing wrong with hunting, but...you eat what you kill!
Killing anything solely for sport is unacceptable. No offense to anyone, but that is how I was raised. |

Up here in Canuckistan, it's illegal to hunt and waste the skin and meat of an edible animal (including fish). Does Texas not have the same kind of reg? When we have hunters coming from the states to hunt up here, usually the outfitter/guide takes care of the meat (since the hunter can't take it across the border).
That martial arts guy, Brock Lesner was up here last year and got dinged for wasting the meat of a deer he shot. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgar...e.html?cmp=rss

Oh, yeah. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Code prohibits killing or wounding a game bird/animal and not making reasonable effort to retrieve the carcass, and keep the edible parts in edible condition.
The ethics taught to me and my brothers by my Dad go beyond game animals. Pretty much any vertebrate, except in self defense/defense of property - if ya kill it, ya gotta eat it (we certainly had to). Opossums, raccoons, squirrels (mmmmmmmm!), grackles...etc... It doesn't matter. Exotic game (which we never hunted) - Wanna hunt a lion? Are you gonna eat the lion? If not, then you don't need to shoot it; leave it alone. Do y'all allow canned hunts up in Canada? We do in Texas. To me, that is absolutely wrong. |

"CANNED HUNT"
They set up remote feeding bins, with timers to feed the animals at the same time each day. Just like Pavlov's dog, the animals get hungry and walk over to the feeding machine at same time each day. The feeding machine is in a clearing, and the hunting ranch has towers for the "sportsmen" to snipe from. They even had a ranch with a robo-gun that could be controlled over the internet. "Sportsmen" could shoot an animal after paying for access on the website. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canned_hunt |

Haven't seen anything like that up here... I suspect even the trophy hunters would find that unsportsmenlike.
Up here, a private land owner can not sell, barter or make a profit from granting permission for a hunter or outfitter to hunt on their land. That said, I'm not sure about animals owned and raised for the purpose of hunting on private land. I'll have to go look it up and see what the regs say. We have rules that set out how long you must be out of an aircraft and on the ground before you can commence a hunt, no shooting from a vehicle, boat (only if the boat is non-motorized), we can't shoot an animal that is swimming or too close to any corridor. In fact, we can't even lean a loaded weapon against a vehicle nor use a shooting bench that is on a vehicle. What a lot of people don't realize is that up here even road kill is regulated and one needs to have a permit to collect, possess road kill. I'm in the middle of working out how to handle skulls that a hunter wants to decorate with beads. If they leave it with me, I have to have a permit to have it in my possession and the skull has to be accompanied with it's tag and permit from the hunter. I have to take a picture of it (along with the tag) and document it up the ying yang. I can't use just any skull I find and then sell it.. I can only sell a cow skull (but I am working out something with the local bison and elk farmer/ranchers to see if those skulls would be ok).

Generally, Texas doesn't allow hunting from motor vehicles/motor boats/helicopters...I seem to remember that there's an exception to that for feral hogs, but I'm not positive about that.
I had to look it up to be sure ('cause you never know with our squirrely Legislature) but we did outlaw computer assisted hunting back in 2005 after that particular practice hit the news. I do remember one of the arguments against outlawing it, though - "what about paraplegics or quadriplegics who want to hunt?" My answer to that is tough chit, they can find another form of recreation. |

Did some checking here, we do have hunt farms here... usually hogs/pigs. Now, I've never considered pigs to be anything but ferals. What burns me is that in order to get these animals and breed them the owner has to do it under an agriculture license. I can't agree that you can use one set of rules to get your livestock and then another set of rules for killing them. (the rules for slaughter are different for hunting as opposed for livestock)
