I've handled quite a few mature golden eagle feathers and I know they can be reproduced. Of course the fakes would be wing feathers because that's what they make the fakes from, turkey wing feathers. They can't do it with tail feathers. A friend of mine who's got a family of 6 to have feathers for was in California for the big powwow they have in I think it's Bakersfield? Anyhow, he ran into a guy who he could not tell the guys' feathers were fake and turns out they were'nt even faked from feathers.. they were made of rice paper!

Anyhow they do reproduce mature golden in fakes.. like I said, the shop I worked at sold them but they sold the crazy crow ones which look nice but they look fake, but occasionally they sent one that unless you looked at it up close it looked pretty close. And you have to consider the picture they got on there is small.

Anyhow I included links to some of the fakes so you would know what I'm talking about.. and the last link is some of the really good fakes.

BTW.. I'm not arguing that they ARE indeed fakes, but I'm just not entirely convinced that they are the real thing.
