Kiowa Tia-Piah Song

This afternoon, Warren Queton (featured this week in Powwows.com) visited the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian, in Washington D.C. During his visit he shared cultural information about the Kiowa Tia-Piah Society with visitors in the NMAI Potomac Atrium. Following this narration he dedicated and sang a gourd dance song in my honor. I felt really blessed and homesick at the same time. I put down a monetary donation for this honor as did many visitors. We gave this money to an elder from Nebraska so that he would have a little gas money on his journey home.

Aho Pahbi Warren. It was greatly appreciated! You made me proud!

That must have been awesome. Glad the elder got some gas money. Are you going to post some pics later?

That's a nice gesture. It's hard to be so far from home, but those songs take you right back. I've had the pleasure of knowing Warren and his family for a long time. He's a fine young man with a bright future.
