Great! I bet Billy Baker and the boys made it rock!

There's alot of songs like that which are used to trick the dancers...you either know the song and the stops or you don't.

Lot of the dancers would jokingly complain that the singers were trying to break certain parts of their anatomy when they sang those songs...yet they would stop on a dime and give you nine cents change. ;-)

Hmmmmmmm....donno...never heard of any songs referred to by this name unless they are old WhiteHorse Riders or Gax'exe songs. Enlighten me...please!

Cool

We have a song up here I always knew as the "tie breaker," because it is a fast song, stops on the off beat and they generally used it when two dancers were tied for a place. When an Annoucer called for a tie breaker, on Ft Berthold, this is always the song that is song. Was talking to a singer friend of mine about this song and he said it was a "necklace breaking song" and that it was a southern song that had been northernized many years ago, becuase I have heard this song since the 60's for sure. Well anyway, we were interrupted before he finished explaining it and I was just looking for more info on it.

I will see if Mandaree has it on any of their tapes so you can hear it.

Thanks;

Wink

At Stroud this year they had a trick song for the straight dancers final. They all nailed it. Any ways I am not sure who won, but it was an Osage from some where. I think he was not the best.

Any ways, Mr R. is Denny Medicnebird related to Terell.
