Ok posting pics.

If you mean uploading something from your machine to pw.com in a post:

Use either "quick response" and then the "go advanced" buttons on an email in the thread OR use the "quote" button. Scroll down past the place where you write your forum post and you will see a button called "Manage Attachments". When you click the "Manage Attachments" button a small window will appear.

There is a button called "Browse" on the "Manage Attachments" window. Click on that and use the window that appears to go to the place on your computer where the name of your picture appears. Click on the name of your picture and then click the "Open" button. The navigation window will disappear and the box next to the "Browse" button will have the information needed to upload your picture. Next click the "Upload" button.

If this fails you have one of two problems:

Either the "size" of the picture is too large OR you have too many pictures uploaded to the forums already.

Ok, so what the heck is size? Well if you're trying to upload a picture into a post that means how big the file is. Pw.com has a limit on the total of all the file sizes you have uploaded in the past AND there is a limit as to the size of the individual file that can be uploaded.

How do I find out if I have too many pictures uploaded?

Look in the little window. There is a bar at the bottom of the window (just above the "close this window" button) - if it is ALL red, you can't upload anymore pictures to the forum unless you go and delete some of the pictures you have already uploaded.

How do I find out if I my picture is too big?

"Big" in this case has nothing to do with the dimensions of the picture on your monitor - it has to do with file size.

A picture is a file? Yup. You can upload files that have a file "extension" (the part after the ".") of bmp or doc or gif or jpe or jpeg or jpg or pdf or png or psd or txt or zip. The ones for pictures are commonly bmp, gif, jpg, jpe, jpeg, png or psd. Go to where the picture file is on your computer and RIGHT mouse click on the name of your picture. Scroll down the menu that appears and click on PROPERTIES (usually the last thing on the menu). When you click on PROPERTIES a little box will appear. Look at the Size (about midway down the box).

If you try to upload a huge file, there will be words that appear above the Manage Attachments window advising you that the file is too big. In this case you need to reduce the size of your file using image software (Photoshop or PaintShopPro or some such) by reducing the resolution.

Geez - lot of geek stuff in there huh?

If all else fails, PM me and I'll give you my email addy so you can send me your picture. I can run the file through one of my image software programs and send it back.

To attach an image to your forum post that is already online:

Above the place where you write your forum post message (after clicking on either the "Quote" button or the "Quick Response" and then "Go Advanced" buttons), there is a bunch o' stuff like a B, an I, a U. If you keep going you'll see a yellow square with what looks like gray mountains on it. Click that and then type the URL (or copy the URL from another Browser window and paste it) into the gray box that appears. Make sure the url starts with http:// ! Then click the "OK" button.

That's all you have to do to get an image that's already online to show up in your forum post.

Still confused? PM me and I'll try to help.

Oh no! Were these the young people in the Jeep wreck out by Leesburg? Our prayers are with the family.
