Unhappy Freakin exhausted.....

Yall i'm tired. I don't mean oh i'm just a little tired so let me rest for a few minutes... i'm talking i'm so freakin exhausted i don't want to move for a few days.

I'm anemic but I've been eating right and more often. Decent amounts of water, no sodas. I'm stressed... this semester ain't no joke. I've been getting 8 hours on average but i'm so tired still. Anybody got any advice that doesn't involve heavy amounts of caffeine (predisposed to fibroids)? HELP!!! I'm still pushing on to do what I gotta do but dang it's taking a toll on me.

Give Ginseng a try, if you are willing to try herbals.
My son won't sleep more than 3 hours at a time, can you say sleep deprivation, and my husband and i were at the point of being constantly sick just from exhaustion. Since trying the Ginseng (we use the Korean Ginseng) we feel functional and alert during the day. My husband can't do caffeinne either so this has really helped him out.
Hope that helps

Have you tried green tea? It has some caffeine, though not much. It also contains ginseng. I usually start drinking a cup every morning half way through a term at school. I also keep a cot in one of my offices so I can nap if necessary.

echinacea helps with the immune system. i also found that essential oils of lavender, chamomile, and rose help in getting you relaxed. to boost energy, essential oil of grapefruit or orange or lemon.

Singing Otter I just recently got some blood test done & found out the my hormones levels are way too low & I aslo am an anemic also I have insufficient adrena.
I take hormone replacments & a multi B complex alse I ytake Isocort for the adrenal gland, boy did it make a differance.

http://www.vitaminmd.com/isocort.htm

The Adrenals are two small endocrine glands, whose location is directly above each of the kidneys. The proper functioning of these glands is essential to our overall health and sense of well-being. They are of primary concern in matters of energy production, stamina, blood sugar regulation, emotional balance, ability to cope with stress, thyroid activity (indirect effect on metabolic rate), sensitivity to allergens (allergy producing substances) and the regulation of inflammatory processes.

Fatigue
Many people complain of fatigue as a primary symptom, often complicated by other health concerns. When the attention is focused to the endocrine system in fatigued individuals, eight times out of ten the signs and symptoms are a result of insufficient adrenal reserves. In simple terms, weak or tired adrenal glands. In most cases this condition develops gradually, due to a host of factors.

Ginger....

That Isocort sounds grand. I've been reading about it since you posted. People swear by it!! Cheapest I've found it is $24.95. So I'm going to get me some! Thanks.

I get tired a lot from being anemic, and having allergies to a lot of foods. Canned or dried salmon always helps me.

Or maybe with everything going on in your life, you really need to take a day or two to lounge and take a little break.

I know it sounds easier than it really is, -to just rest. But your body is trying to tell you what it needs. -or at least plan for whenever the next time you can take a break in the future, and look forward to seriously resting and relaxing.

I stayed home this last weekend and rented a bunch of movies, bought enough groceries and snacks to last 3 days straight, and napped, played with the kids, napped, watched t.v., napped, did some homework for tonights class, then went to bed. I like to stay busy, but after all the holidays...i needed a rest.

I hope that you're healthy and will be back to your strong ol' self real soon!

long post but i'm taking a break lol

Thanks y'all I appreciate the advice. I may try a blend of them all. Ginger, I'm really interested in the isocort. How long did it take to kick in?

bahnisiain a blend of the isocort I saw had echinacea in it. I use to drink that all the time but it's hard to find around here (the brand I would buy all of the time). I need to start drinking good tea again.

Thanks Andre! I forgot about green tea!

Momme I have some ginseng that I am using in some stirfry. I think I might try some of the tea because the caplets are too strong.

Sunkato I've been back on regimen for months. Very little sugar (aggrivates fibromyalgia... wild thing is it aggrivates alzheimers too. I didn't know that until I told mom what I read and she told me about this lil lady she would sit with that had it. When she had sugar it was soooooooooo much worse... The lady drank loads of diet pop and regular stuff. When they cut down on it, she got better.)While my overall health is much better, a myriad of my problems feel musculoskeletal in nature... if I overexert myself I'm out of commission for atleast 2 days.

Baby me tooooo. What do you do for the allergies? I had an orange and my skin broke out soooo bad. I'm allergic to strawberries too but I eat em anyways. My brother sent some deer jerky so I've been snacking on that.

Slightly off topic: I've been contemplating going totally raw (fruits and veggies) or partially vegan... all the crap they put in processed foods is scary.... especially since i'm genetically predisposed to so many things. One of my favorite things is to eat is beef stew :-| I made some so good I coulda reached out and pimp slapped somebody! I lubb meat... owno if I can go totally vegan.....lol thank god for crock pots.

Singing Otter I swear by the Isocort you have to be patient it took a couple of weeks, also I discovered that if I get a sugar craving I take one & the craving is gone.

It's weird how our body dynamics change as we get older... I used to never have to worry about energy, or allergies - now, if I go a day without a clariton D - I am brain dead... have no idea what I am allergic to - but boy ... what a difference if I miss a day. And you know, I'm a bit stubborn... purposely went off the meds on Sat, saying it was just a sniffle - woke up in the middle of the night - eyes scratchy, nose running, coughing... went today and got my meds again - like a new person....

Anyways - I am glad everyone was able to give great advice... this is helpful - and I love green tea!!! My kids have gotten pretty used to it too!!!

Good luck Singing Otter - am proud of your accomplishments.... I know how tough it is to finish school...

a good way to get some natural energy and get you body working in the right way again(and it will help you have better quality sleep) is to walk...not hard power walk, but just a good pace...dont go for distance but rather time a good 30 minute walk will help ...its good for relieving stress too and its nice to see the trees and hear the birds....
