Symantec's Norton ant-malware software is now being made for Mac. The reason being is that Apple overlooked a lot of security issues because not many people bothered to attempt to hack it or write malicous code, but because their market share went up a bit, due largely in part because Vista was junk and no one wanted it, it became worthwhile for people to hack, crack, and write viruses etc.
I didn't mean there weren't viruses and spyware that effect Mac. There just aren't many. On Windows there are literally millions!

We have someone get infected at least once a week, and we're a small company.

Sorry if I seem a bit "Nick Burns - Your Company's Computer Guy" here, lol, its just that I'm a computer nerd and thats what we do. I get in a PC vs Apple / Mac vs Linux debate several times a month. I dual boot Windows XP, soon to be 7 when I build my new machine, and Linux Ubuntu KDE.

I do agree with you that Windows does have far more viruses and malware, but thats because they have a larger marketshare which makes it lucrative for those who program those things, and as Mac's share rises we can expect to see many more for them as well. I used to work for a major retailer a couple of years ago, selling and repairing computer and tech products and can't tell you how many times I got PC's in for virus removal, the most common being the fake anti-virus programs that you need special software to remove.

Honestly, I think one should have to take a basic computer class that covers basic operation and saftey before they can buy one, lol. I also feel the same way about professional audio and video equipment.

I wish I was in an area that got iPhone service, or any good service for that matter. My phone is a Samsung Omnia and I hate it...going back to my LG eNV as soon as I transfer my pics and video. It takes great pictures - that's about it. And I hate paying the extra $30 on top of my regular bill.

Here at our school we're on the Mac vs. PC teeter-totter. When I started here we were totally Apple, then someone in charge started bringing in PCs and phasing out Apples. I fought tooth and nail to keep Macs at the primary level.

Then a good Apple salesman came a-calling. So now we're swaying back to the Mac side - have wireless laptops, iPod Touch labs, and have a bunch of iPads on order. I'm hoping to get a iPod touch and use the Skype app to call around.

Iíve had my Droid X for a couple of weeks now, and I love it! There was a definite learning curve, but Iím really pleased with it, and have no regrets about passing on the iPhone 4.

I'd gotten my phone set up, put it aside, and was sitting there reading the owner's manual. I kept hearing it say DROID - DROID - DROID - had no idea why - and wondered if it was gonna do that 24/7!

It finally dawned on me that that was how it was notifying me I had new message in Gmail.

14 lbs...not counting the battery attached to the radio..another lb. for that one...they lasted for a day if you were lucky. Plus the crypto gear and cables was another 10 lbs. if you were given that to hook up to your radio as well...it was a scrambling device so no one could monitor your transmissions except with another crypto set.

***You could go fishing with this battery. It would explode in the water after it went about 3-4 feet. If you needed fish to eat of course.

So, if you were the RTO and coming up on a river or deep stream you had to sometimes hold the radio over your head or find something to keep it afloat on.
The radio's of today are of course not like the old school PRC-77. They will just short out and be a nice paperweight for your desk.

OK, I'm totally undecided. My phone upgrade is coming up soon.

I want an iPhone, but until Verizon hurries up and gets in bed with Apple, that's not a possibility.

I'm kinda attached to my Samsung Omnia now, and wouldn't mind checking out an Omnia 2 with the fastest texting in the west. But the reviews are terrible, and Windows Mobile 6.5 is being phazed out soon.

The Droid Incredible looks better but it's like $199, when I can get an Omnia 2 for $49.

Decisions, decisions.........

Rumor has it Verizon and Apple will bed in bed sometime early (January) 2011 making baby iPhones. It's a rumor.
