I am voting for Obama, one of my many reason he will sit and talk to native leaders and deal with natives issues in American. Obama has a good record when sitting with people and solving issues, that matter to the people. he will be a very fair leader. Our children needs a leader like him.

I guess I'm still skeptical of his intentions toward helping native people.

The pictures of him on the rez look nice, but how do we know it is nothing more than another way to get votes? Does he have a track record of supporting or authoring legislation that helps native peoples in his term as a senator? I haven't seen any. I know of one bill in the last 18 months that had to do with funding for IHS and he wasn't even there for the vote.

I also have concerns about his health care plan.

The idea of providing insurance to the uninsured is a good one - something the Clintons were unable to do in 2 terms in spite of making that a major plank in their campaign platform. If you have insurance through your employer (which supposedly you're allowed to keep), and then the employer sees that there is now a safety net (i.e., government subsidized health care), what's to prevent the employer from getting rid of their sponsored coverage? Even if there is a fine as consequence for large employers not providing coverage, that fine may be less than the cost savings they would realize from not providing insurance.

Wouldn't this result in a major increase in the enrollment in the government plan? Won't that raise costs down the road??

Read this:

Q. Won’t my employer drop coverage?
A. No. Employers who do not offer meaningful coverage to their employees will have to
contribute a percentage of their payroll to help offset the cost of providing coverage to all
Americans. In most cases, this will eliminate an employer’s incentive to drop coverage.
Some small employers will be exempt from this requirement.

To add to Paul G's response about your health care concerns: having everyone covered should eventually bring health care costs down, because when everyone is covered people will be able to seek health care when they first get ill, preventing further complications & therefore larger costs. Besides do you really think cost is a good reason to deny coverage to those who can't afford it?

No I don't think cost is a reason to deny coverage. What I don't want is for the gov't (and taxpayers) to subsidize coverage that employers should be paying for, that's all. Hope that makes sense!

I haven't voted in a long time cuz I felt Bush was full of Sh*t the first time...or should I say times wit good ol dad in there???

I don't like politicians but this is the first time in a long time that I actually felt like voting......
