some friday morning three years ago i left this canyon to follow my brother into war. three years where did they go.. today is some january day and above me the sun is setting, below me the snow is crunching under my feet, in front of me my parents canyon. its all a glow from the evening sunset mixing in with the reds, purples and the white from the snow. behind me my service to my country.. today is a good day. up around the bend i can start to see where i came from, and then there it is.. my families hogan. theres smoke rising slowly from the fireplace, the windows and doors are glowing from kerosene lamps. inside my mothers probably making hot bread to have with dinner. my father, hes probably tired and sipping coffee at the table. my little sister, that little hellyun, is probably running around and for the life of me i dont know what im going to say.

they say it couldnt be done.. but i came home anyway

my father laid some charcoal on the ground and together we sat around him. i was soo glad that my feet had touched the ground here in front of him, because in some crazy way i could let my guard down. he made an offering and we let the smoke rise into the air. he prayed in some old fashioned way that still amazes me to this day. by that, i mean he used words soo old from our language that somehow they seemed sacred. and from all this i closed my eyes and let him say the words for me.

We took our dog in to the vets a couple weeks ago cause she just got out of heat & now she's getting big we thought she was pregnant.. Nope she's just fat & lazy I have never seen such a lazy dog, so I thought hmmm maybe she learns that from us  now were all on a diet & I make everybody get out to exercise any waht they can. :hysterica
