Day 3 of rain that is supposed to continue through the weekend. Anybody got any ark plans I can borrow? Maybe I will just go spend some time on a reservation. LOL! Not touching that post. ;)

A whirlwind was in the neighbor county.
It is called here tornado but it seems, it was only a little one in comparison to yours. @OLChemist, may you have some flying help to implement your plan. ![]() |

Massive amounts of soothing junk food. I had to take my Siamese princess, Ishtato, to a veterinary ophthalmologist to see if the discolored spot on her iris is melanoma. He couldn't tell. Now we're in a waiting game to see if and/or when her eye will have to be removed.

I want to know what website I looked at that made Adsense decide I needed ads for quilting fabrics and freeze dried foods for my bomb shelter/prepper home. According to the ads on this page, if I buy a 4 week survival food pack, I'll get a 100 heirloom seeds in an ammo case. And I can get 32 batik fat-quarters for $32.
*Rose contemplates the image of herself sitting in a bomb shelter, next to a kerosene lamp, stitching on a star quilt. Then taking a break to consume a hearty bowl of "Liberty Bell Potato-Cheddar" soup, with crackers and butter powder. All while the world burns overhead. She shakes her head. Nope. Not suited for post-apocalyptic survival. * Last edited by OLChemist; 05-18-2018 at 09:25 PM.. |

Rose brushes the dust off the stool a the counter and sits down. She looks at the spider web over the salt shakers. "Anyone still work here?"

Ahh, yes my [SARCASM]favorite[/SARCASM] week, back in the day when I taught college chemistry. It takes the student 2 hrs to take the final. It takes the instructor 2 days to grade them, with the registrar's office deadline hanging over your head.

I have optimized the correction. Digital decision right or wrong. No in between or almost none. LOL, deadline, yes. LOL. Need to speed up. LOL I have been lucky demanding to have the exam day last Wednesday. Seven more days to the deadline than first planned. LOL.

Me & Eyes are the best !

Sorry , a quick cup of coffee to go ! My beautiful wife Bonnie (eyesrbrown4areason) was thrown from one of our green mares(horse spooked and freaked out) and stepped on/ run over . The result is a foot long tear from just above her elbow to about halfway down her forearm.(in a long horse shoe design) Right arm of course. So now patience is the key. She was in surgery(had to put her out to clean all the dirt and rocks out of it )until the wee hours , day before yesterday.(Sunday about 4) So I've been a bit preoccupied with her.Luckily no broken bones or tendons , just muscle and fat and skin. Lucky , could have been worse! Sorry ! Gotta go....Laterzzz

You always get coffee just for the asking.
Best wishes for Bonnie's healing process. A prayer will do no harm but may help. |

WD, you guys need some seat belts on those horses. I hope Bonnie gets to feeling better soon. I can't imagine how shook up that made the two of you. I'm glad it wasn't worse.
OL, why would they send seeds in an ammo case? Waterproofing or do they think you are going to shoot them? LOL! We are still getting rain but at least it isn't an all day thing-at the moment. It's supposed to get that way this weekend, though. I do prefer rain to fire season, which is what we would be in if we weren't getting all the rain.

After my cousin's house was high and dry during Harvey but the food trucks couldn't get to the town for two weeks, I did think about getting her a 1 week survival bucket. I can see that under the Christmas tree. She already has the camo and guns, LOL. Well, the painting is nearly done on the house. It took 6 weeks for a painter to be available. Although I still think that come punch list time, I'm going to be telling the contractor his subs missed all the trim behind the bushes. It was primer white this morning. Gutters next then hopefully, they'll come out and clean all the debris the brick layers just left in my yard. |

Every time I hear the word "prepper", that old Dr. Pepper jingle runs through my head. "I'm a Pepper, she's a Pepper, wouldn't you like to be a Pepper, too?" ROFL!

They patched over a half a dozen nail heads in the siding, after the paint was up. (I think their supervisor came back and made them fix a few places they missed.) But they forgot to repaint. I can't touch them up or good bye warranty. Grrr. It will take me longer call the contractor than it would to fix these.
But it's nearly done! The gutters go up today. The porch staining will happen this weekend. Then the final walk through. I am going to have to change the color on the front door and back door, which weren't re-painted. The red (it's a neighborhood thing to have bright colored doors) that went well with the other green and yellow is not so great with the new shades. Problems. Well, for construction not so much. I've been kvetching over tiny things. Some broken brick, a broken skirting board, long delays for painters, missed spots and a weird two tone paint scheme on the downspouts. I've been lucky.
There is so much building going on in the area it's neigh unto impossible to get someone who can take on new jobs. Let alone get a good contractor. |

Getting ready for a wet weekend-again. That system that's headed for La. is going to be trailing a lot of rain our way-up to 3 inches between Sat. and Mon.. I just keep telling myself that wet season beats fire season.
OLChemist, do you have an HOA? I was helping hubby on a remodel once, and this woman from across the street came over and asked if he could paint her front door. After he told her he could, she said she had to talk to the HOA first to see if the color she wanted met with their approval. This was a huge multi-million dollar house on the beach. I knew right then and there I would never want to deal with an HOA.
